Community Fire Stations project success for blue sky
blue sky architects, as part of the Balfour Beatty Fire and Rescue consortium, is delighted to be part of the successful team appointed as Selected Bidder for the North West Fire and Rescue Services PFI contract.
The project will involve 16 new build Community Fire Stations across Merseyside, Lancashire and Cumbria.
As well as modernised operational facilities, the stations will provide resources for community use such as meeting rooms, multi-function lecture rooms and gyms.
Chris Russell, Managing Director of blue sky architects, commented: “blue sky is delighted to be part of the winning consortium for this project. The new fire stations will provide an improved working environment for the Fire and Rescue Service as well as valuable community facilities and we are excited to be involved in such an inspiring project.”
Construction work on the first eight fire stations is planned to commence in November 2010, with all 16 fire stations planned to be complete by 2013.
